How does your health insurer stack up in national ratings?
The committee rated more than 1,000 plans for 2017-18, including 20 private, 30 Medicare and seven Medicaid plans in
The national group examined three general categories -- consumer satisfaction, prevention and treatment -- on a scale from zero to five, with five indicating the highest performance. The plan ratings focus on the results of the care delivered to health plan members and what patients say in surveys about their care, according to the committee.
The committee rated the insurers' private plans, Medicare plans -- which serve the disabled and individuals 65 and older -- and Medicaid plans, which serve people with low incomes. Not all insurers were rated.
