Horizon Elder Law & Estate Planning, in honor of Memorial Day, is celebrating its first anniversary offering consultations to veterans. "This is our way of honoring and giving back to those who have served our country so that we have the freedoms that we enjoy," said Client Services Director Stephanie McNaughton, of Horizon Elder Law & Estate Planning. "This gratis offer to veterans is permanent."

Free consultations for veterans include estate planning, Medi-cal planning and VA Aid and Attendance. Many veterans don't realize they qualify for veteran's benefits or are unaware of the "Aid and Attendance" pension. This special pension was set aside to assist senior veterans and their spouses who are in need of financial assistance for health care costs in order to prevent draining their life savings.

"Veterans have not been taken care of the way they should be," concluded McNaughton. "Many of them have had to face some very serious situations and we feel they deserve so much more."
