Honesty key at Robinson agency

Valdosta Daily Times (GA)

Jul. 14--VALDOSTA -- C. Bivins Robinson's only regret is he didn't start his insurance business sooner.

For 30 years, he worked for another insurance business. A change in leadership led him to start his business.

"People were going on their own," Robinson said. "That's what I did and my only regret is that I didn't do it earlier."

Robinson Insurance Agency, 1101 W. Alden Ave., is committed to providing its clients with specific advice to help create the best insurance plan, he said.

"We take the time to understand your family or business and understand the needs so that we can find the best coverage to meet your goals," Robinson's website states. "We also will help identify key areas you might not have initially seen as a potential risk."

Robinson Agency does commercial, health, auto, home and specialty insurance coverage.

It represents companies that have a history of excellent service, and through these companies, it will find the best pricing and coverage available to fit any client's needs.

Robinson, originally from northern Brooks County, said since he started his agency, it has grown substantially.

"You're never sitting still," he said. "It's always an incline or a decline. A lot of merchants try to stay in the same place, but it doesn't work like that."

He attributes his long success in Valdosta to his honesty. If he doesn't know something, he won't lie or pretend to know it.

"I'll tell them right quick if I don't know something," Robinson said. "The worst thing to do in the insurance business is to tell someone they are covered for something they aren't. It could cost them everything."

Robinson got started in the insurance business and stayed in the business because he loves helping people, he said.

He said he likes giving people the assurance their family, assets and future are secure and safe, he said.

"That makes me feel good, you know," Robinson said.

As for the future of the business, he said he is looking for someone young, capable and interested in making some money to take over eventually. Someone he can trust to lead the business into a bright future.

"I want to see it grow and expand," Robinson said. "I don't want to see it end with me."
