WASHINGTON, July 12 -- Health Care for America Now issued the following statement by Executive Director Margarida Jorge on Trump administration convenes a listening session to discuss an Affordable Care Act replacement:
As the Trump administration convenes a listening session to discuss an Affordable Care Act replacement today, Health Care for America Now Executive Director Margarida Jorge released the following statement:
"Partisan extremists should not be deciding our health policy.
"Groups like the Heritage Foundation and Americans for Tax Reform aren't 'health experts' - they're henchmen for the same industry that exploits patients, lobbying for watered-down junk insurance plans and drug pricing policy that lines the pockets of Pharma execs while robbing Americans of the life-saving medication they need.
"If the Trump administration was serious about making health care more affordable and accessible, they would fight for patients first.
"We need comprehensive benefits, patient protections and affordable prescription drugs, not partisan hacks looking to make a profit off the pain of American families who can't afford the care they need."
