HDI appoints Patricia Ryan as Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- HDI Global Insurance Company (HDI) is excited to announce the appointment of Patricia Ryan to the role of Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary with immediate effect. She succeeds David Neumeister who after more than a decade with HDI, has decided to return to private practice.

In her new role, Ms. Ryan will serve as principal counsel, responsible for managing all legal matters for the company, including compliance, litigation, regulatory and government affairs, contracts, and legal consultation to HDI’s business operations. As part of the company’s Leadership Team, she will work closely with HDI’s Board of Directors on corporate governance and business processes. She will report to Dr. Lothar Becker, President and Chief Executive Officer.

Prior to joining HDI, Ms. Ryan served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of American Overseas Group, a Bermuda based insurance holding company. She was previously a partner at Johnson & Bell, Ltd., and has also served as Assistant General Counsel of QBE U.S. Agencies and Senior Counsel at Allianz.

Ryan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and History from the University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign, and a J.D. from Loyola University School of Law.
