Prudential Financial signs on as title sponsor for Brick City HBCU Kickoff Classic at Red Bull Arena

NEWARK, N.J., July 18, 2023 - Prudential Financial has signed on as the title sponsor for the Brick City HBCU Kickoff Classic, which features Grambling State University and Hampton University kicking off at 3 p.m. ET on Sept. 2 at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey. The Newark-based financial services company will have branding on all official game-related digital platforms as well as marketing materials and merchandise, and the Prudential logo will be featured on the 50-yard line.

The Brick City HBCU Kickoff Classic is a celebration of the culture and excellence of historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs). HBCUs have been pivotal in the education and advancement of Black students for over 150 years. The Classic is designed to increase awareness of HBCUs while also having a direct impact on the city of Newark through scholarship awards, partnerships and local economic development.

The Brick City HBCU Kickoff Classic renews a popular rivalry between two teams that each boast College Football Hall of Fame coaches — Eddie Robinson of GSU and Joe Taylor of HU.
