Three Greenberg Traurig, P.A. shareholders have been appointed or reappointed by Florida Governor Rick Scott to Florida's Judicial Nominating Committees. Fort Lauderdale Shareholder Fred E. Karlinsky has been reappointed to the Florida Supreme Court Judicial Nominating Commission for a term ending July 1, 2022. Miami Shareholder Adam M. Foslidwas appointed to the Third District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission for a term ending July 1, 2020. Tallahassee Shareholder Hayden R. Dempsey was appointed to the Second Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission for a term ending July 1, 2022.
Karlinsky is co-chair of Greenberg Traurig's Insurance Regulatory and Transactions Practice. He has more 25 years of experience representing the interests of insurers, reinsurers and a wide variety of other insurance-related entities on their regulatory, transactional, corporate and governmental affairs matters. Karlinsky also is experienced in transactional law, executive and legislative governmental affairs, administrative law, and corporate representation. In addition, Karlinsky has served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Florida State University College of Law since 2008, where he teaches a course on Insurance Law and Risk Management.
Foslid chairs the Miami Litigation Department and concentrates his practice on complex commercial, business, class action, and product liability litigation in federal and state courts and before arbitration panels throughout the United States. He represents clients in a wide array of disputes involving commercial transactions, breaches of contract, business torts, fraud, deceptive and unfair trade practices, fiduciary relationships, mergers and acquisitions, banking, insurance, partnerships, real estate deals, construction defects, corporate governance, medical devices, consumer and building products, and claims of serious personal injury and wrongful death.
Dempsey is the chair of Greenberg Traurig's Florida Government Law & Policy Practice. He represents numerous private and public clients before both the Florida Legislature and state agencies and represents clients in Medicaid and health policy matters, procurement disputes, transportation and infrastructure issues, health care regulatory matters, and election matters.
