Financial Planning Association Fostering Community to Support the Needs of Latino Financial Planners

DENVER, Colorado, March 7 -- The Financial Planning Association issued the following news release:

The Financial Planning Association(R) (FPA(R)), the principal membership organization for CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER(TM) professionals and those who support the financial planning process, is expanding its efforts to serve the unique needs of diverse membership communities within the association with the launch of the FPA Latino Knowledge Circle. The new Knowledge Circle provides a professional home for FPA members who are of Latino descent to collaborate, share ideas, engage in professional development, promote the profession among the Latino community, and make connections with other Latino financial planners.

"Through FPA's vision to elevate the profession that transforms lives through the power of financial planning, we are enthusiastic about fostering like-minded communities, like our Latino Knowledge Circle," says FPA Executive Director/CEO, Lauren M. Schadle, CAE. "We are excited to see this community grow and prosper as our members come together in ways meaningful to them to grow both professionally and personally."

The FPA Latino Knowledge Circle is kickstarting programming over the next 12 months by hosting a series of webinars focusing on mentorship, emotional intelligence, cultural awareness, neuroleadership and more. Already with the participation of more than 40 FPA members, the FPA Latino Knowledge Circle and the association will continue to identify opportunities where FPA can meet the needs of Latino planners and grow the community.

"The FPA Latino Knowledge Circle will be the place where Latinos can find each other, their voice in the profession, and help build a community to support one another," says FPA member Louis Barajas, EA, CFP(R). "I'm thrilled to be part of a community that attends to the needs of Latinos in the financial planning profession."

FPA Knowledge Circles, comprised of twelve online community platforms, encourage financial professionals to coalesce around common interests and enable like-minded professionals to connect globally with their peers. As of February 28, more than 4,700 members are participating in FPA Knowledge Circles focused on Applied Behavioral Economics, Business Success, CFP Board Standards, International/Cross Border, Investment Planning, Latino, PridePlanners, Public Policy and Regulation, Retirement Planning, Tax and Estate Planning, Theory in Practice, and Women and Finance.
