Fidelis Care Opens Welcome Center in Queens, NY

By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Managed Care Weekly Digest -- Fidelis Care, a Statewide health plan with over 1.5 million members, including 850,000 in the New York City region, is pleased to announce the opening of its new Welcome Center at 95-25 Queens Boulevard in Rego Park. The Welcome Center is designed to be a convenient resource for local residents seeking information about health insurance, and is a new focal point of the building where the health plan has made its local home for more than 20 years.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony with local dignitaries and invited guests is planned for 11 AM on Tuesday, November 15, with a brief reception to follow (see also Health Insurance).

Approximately 50 employees staff the new 10,000 square foot Center, and are available to help current and prospective members with any questions they have - from renewing their coverage, and reviewing health insurance product choices, to applying for enrollment. Fidelis Care staff speak multiple languages and understand the unique needs and concerns of members as well as those who may be shopping for coverage for the first time. Open enrollment for metal-level products through NY State of Health: The Official Health Plan Marketplace began on November 1 and runs through January 31, 2017. Medicare Advantage open enrollment is also underway and continues through December 7. To be as accessible as possible during this time, Fidelis Care's Welcome Center is open weekdays from 8:30 AM to 7 PM; Saturdays from 9 AM to 5 PM, and Sundays from 9 AM to 2 PM.
