Fairfield Glade Fire Department earns improved rating
Staff WriterThe Glade Sun
Fairfield Glade Fire Department has earned an improved insurance rating of Class 4 following its recent inspection.
"This outstanding milestone reflects the hard work, preparation, and dedication of the entire department — and its commitment to protecting our community," said Don Arbuckle, the department's public information officer.
Some insurance companies use Insurance Services Office — commonly referred to as ISO— fire protection ratings when assessing risk and setting property and homeowners insurance premiums.
An improved rating may help residents qualify for lower premiums, although any savings depend on the insurer and individual policy.
"Achieving Class 4 took a sustained, department-wide effort. From assembling the required reports and securing equipment to strengthening training and ensuring personnel readiness, the work demanded careful coordination and a shared commitment to meeting this goal," Arbuckle said. "This achievement recognizes that effort and the department's dedication to fire protection and emergency response."
He added that work behind the rating represents time, persistence, and a commitment to serving Fairfield Glade residents.
Arbuckle expressed appreciation to all who worked toward this achievement.
"We especially thank Fire Chief Kirk McLaughlin and his staff, along with Keith Larkin, chair of the ISO committee, for their work throughout this effort," he said. "Keith's tireless dedication and the contributions of the entire department helped make this milestone possible.
"Congratulations to all who worked to achieve it — and thank you for your continued service to our community."
