Evolent Health and River City Medical Group Establish a Management Services Organization for California Managed Care Entities

WASHINGTON, Feb. 26, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Evolent Health, a company providing an integrated value-based care platform to the nation's leading provider and payer organizations, today announced that River City Medical Group and Evolent have partnered to establish a Management Services Organization (MSO) for managed care entities in California.

Initially, the new MSO will focus on providing services, including claims management, utilization management and care management capabilities, to the approximately 300,000 California Medicaid (Medi-Cal) managed care members delegated to River City Medical Group by its health plan partners. Evolent will provide the MSO with Identifi℠, its population health performance management platform, to support health care operations, utilization management, reporting and other critical workflows.

Medi-Cal, the California Medical Assistance Program, provides health care services for low-income individuals, including families with children, seniors, persons with disabilities, children in foster care, pregnant women and low-income people with specific diseases. Since 1992, River City Medical Group and its broad and extensive network of providers have served Medi-Cal beneficiaries through a delegated risk arrangement with its health plan partners. River City Medical Group is now partnering with Evolent to serve these beneficiaries through the new MSO and potentially expand its managed service lines to include other government programs.
