Introduction

2. Introduction
Welcome to Topdanmark's ESG Fact Book which covers the financial year 2021. This Fact Book applies to all subsidiaries of Topdanmark. The Fact Book includes data on environmental, social, and governmental topics as well as calculation methods. We find that especially investors attach increasing importance to the environmental and social factors as well as governance efforts (ESG) as important elements in their assessment of us as a company. And we expect this to continue. With the ESG Fact Book 2021, we want to meet the requirements of investors and ESG rating agencies to get a quick overview of Topdanmark's work and progress on the environmental factors, social conditions, and governance efforts. How to read the ESG Fact Book The ESG Fact Book is divided by colour into Environment (dusty blue), Social (pale blue), and Governance (dark blue). Note that ESG and Investment is green. Due to changes in reporting principles over time, inconsistency may occur when comparing historical data. If this be the case, it will be noted under "data calculation method". For additional reporting on sustainability and corporate responsibility, Topdanmark publishes the following annual reports: Sustainability Report provides a detailed description of our approach to sustainability and business as well as activities and results of the year. Carbon Disclosure Project Report (CDP), an international environment reporting initiative that works towards transparency and dialogue around CO2 emissions and climate strategies in businesses. The purpose of the CDP report is to make this knowledge available to investors and other stakeholders. Task Force for Climate Related Financial Disclosure (TCFD) are international recommendations that aim for companies to relate to and report on how climate changes can potentially affect the business. All the reports can be found on www.topdanmark.com
