Easy Choice Health Plan Rebrands to WellCare of California

CYPRESS, Calif. and TAMPA, Fla., July 23, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- WellCare Health Plans, Inc. (NYSE: WCG) ("WellCare") announced today Easy Choice Health Plan, Inc., a provider of Medicare Advantage plans in California, has officially rebranded and changed its name to WellCare of California, Inc. The new WellCare of California, Inc. name will be used on its 2020 plan year materials.

In 2012, the plan began offering quality, affordable Medicare Advantage healthcare services to eligible individuals residing in Orange, Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Riverside counties. The plan also earned a 4.0 out of 5.0 Star Rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for plan year 2019.

During the brand transition, there will be no changes to member coverage or to their points of contact. While WellCare members will begin receiving plan materials with the WellCare logo and branding, member identification cards with the old Easy Choice logo are still valid.

As of March 31, 2019, WellCare serves approximately 33,000 Medicare Advantage members and 137,000 Medicare Prescription Drug Plan (PDP) members in California.
