I am very concerned that the Senate is working in secrecy on a healthcare bill that effects every aspect of every American citizen’s life. Thirteen men, no women, are assuming that they have the expertise to craft a bill about health with no input from doctors, nurses, insurance companies, hospitals or the representatives of Democratic voters.
I think we as a country should be concerned that any bill with such potentially life-altering potential is being developed in secrecy with no input.
What has happened to the transparency in our government? What does “government by the people” mean if we have no input into our bills? How can government function if it excludes half of the elected officials? I am sure this is not how the founding fathers envisioned our government working.
I urge you to call your elected officials and demand an open process in the development of a bill that will personally affect every single one of us.
