Crime Roundup: Tools stolen from Greenville business

Pitt County authorities are investigating the theft of tools from the headquarters of a local construction company.

An incident report from the Pitt County Sheriff's Office said that deputies received reports about 11 a.m. on Monday of the thefts from TideLand Construction and Petroleum headquarters, 3600 North Drive, an area off of U.S. 264 in Greenville.

The report lists the Washington-based River City Construction as the victim, along with an individual.

An assortment of tools were stolen, including two power tools and a battery and two sets of plumbing crimpers. Two bags of hand tools also were stolen. In total, the stolen items are valued at $2,800.

The case remained under investigation.
