Crime Roundup: Greenville woman charged with insurance fraud
A woman who authorities said made a false car insurance claim was arrested and charged with fraud and attempting to obtain property by false pretenses.
A news release from the
Special agents with DOI determined that no collision occurred since one of the vehicles alleged to have been involved was mechanically inoperable at the time of the reported traffic incident.
The release said Peoples was attempting to collect an insurance settlement to pay for damages to her vehicle as part of the claim, but that also was determined to be fraudulent.
