CONGRESSWOMAN VAL DEMINGS RESPONDS TO CBO SCORE ON SENATE HEALTH CARE BILL
Congressional Documents & Publications
WASHINGTON, D.C.--Congresswoman Val Demings, Florida's10th District, responds to the Congressional Budget Office score released Monday, which shows 23 million more people would be without healthcare by 2026.
"The Congressional Budget Office confirmed today what both President Trump and President Obama have already confirmed, this bill is in fact "mean".
"This bill is no less cruel and harmful to the American people than the one House Republicans passed last month.
"By dismantling Medicaid they are putting the lives of Florida's seniors and children at risk.
"Also concerning today is the so-called "continuous care" provision added into the bill today, which punishes American's who may fall onto hard times, literally denying them health care.
"We are a nation that takes care of its own and this bill does not reflect our values."
