CONGRESS FAILS WORKING FAMILIES AS HEALTH TAX CREDITS ARE SET TO EXPIRE
States News Service
The following information was released by the Catholic Health Association of the United States (CHA):
Today, Catholic Health Association of the United States (CHA) President and CEO Sr. Mary Haddad, RSM, issued the following statement on the expiring health tax credits.
"Congress has a responsibility to ensure that Americans have access to affordable health insurance. Their inability to work together to extend vital health tax credits means that working families are now left scrambling to figure out how they will afford coverage as their premiums rise, and for many, the only option will be to drop their insurance altogether.
This uncertainty is not just a policy shortfall; it shows a troubling disregard for the needs of working families. The consequences are real and immediate. People will delay care, families will face impossible financial trade-offs, and communities and hospitals will feel the strain as more people go without the coverage they depend on.
Millions of Americans deserve better. Congress must act quickly to restore stability and provide families with the support they need to access affordable, reliable health coverage."
