Community Fund set up to help those displaced by Boxborough fire

Feb. 11—The UCC Boxborough has organized a Community Fund to support those displaced by the four-alarm fire that ripped through a condo complex on Swanson Road in Boxborough Wednesday night.

The Feb. 10 blaze has reportedly left over 30 people displaced, many of whom are now staying at the Boxboro Regency Hotel.

Rev. Cindy Worthington-Berry posted the following to the church's Facebook page on Wednesday night:

As many of you know, this evening there was a fire in Boxborough on Swanson Road. I'm glad to say it looks like everyone from the fire in Boxborough is okay. There were 24 units in the building, and many of the families are now staying at the Boxborough Regency. The Red Cross is on site, working with police, fire and town government. Meeting with those folks tonight, it looks like the church's Community Support Fund will be the way folks can donate to help those neighbors, many of whom we think didn't have renter's insurance.

There are several other ways the church might be helping out as well, but with things changing so quickly I don't want to get ahead of things. I'll be present for a meeting tomorrow morning and distributing gift cards thanks to the Community Support Fund. Hopefully I'll have more to share after that.

Response to Boxborough Fire. Huge thanks to everyone who is asking what they can do to help our neighbors impacted by fire in Boxborough. There will be more details in the days ahead. Financial support will be provided by the Community Support Fund out of UCC Boxborough. There are several options for donating to the fund: — Visit the donate page on the church website (https://www.boxboroughucc.org/giving/), click DONATE. Use the "Special Collections" option and put Community Support Fund in the memo line. — Mail a check made out to the church (UCCB, 723 Massachusetts Ave., Boxborough, MA. 01879) with Community Support Fund in the memo line.
