CHICAGO (AP) _ CNA Financial Corp. (CNA) on Monday reported fourth-quarter earnings of $248 million.
On a per-share basis, the Chicago-based company said it had net income of 91 cents. Earnings, adjusted for investment costs, came to $1.01 per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 83 cents per share.
The insurance holding company posted revenue of $3.11 billion in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $2.74 billion.
For the year, the company reported profit of $894 million, or $3.28 per share. Revenue was reported as $10.5 billion.
