Chubb Expands Its Business Crisis Response Network

By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Insurance Weekly News -- The Chubb Group of Insurance Companies has added a leading global public relations firm to its network of independent crisis assistance service providers. Edelman has joined a list of three other providers that help Chubb's commercial umbrella customers manage major liability crises that could generate significant adverse media attention.
All Chubb-approved crisis assistance service providers have extensive experience in crisis communications management, security and related fields. They also include Sard Verbinnen & Co., The Abernathy MacGregor Group and Kroll. Customers may hire these firms or other consultants, subject to Chubb approval. Coverage for up to $300,000 in crisis management-related expenses may be available under Chubb's commercial umbrella policies.
"By adding Edelman to our network, we have expanded the professional resources immediately available to help our policyholders manage a crisis that develops anywhere around the globe," said Benjamin Rockwell, senior vice president and global excess casualty manager for Chubb Commercial Insurance. "When a major crisis occurs, a rapid but appropriate response is the imperative. A wrong step could lead to loss of market share, reputational damage and a demoralized workforce."
