Carrie Rengers: Chock Chapple has started another new company
Wichita Eagle (KS)
Jan. 22--What he calls "the entrepreneurial spirit" has seized Chock Chapple again.
Chapple, a well-known name in the insurance business, has started Insurance Services Group.
He last started his own insurance group in 2004 after leaving an almost 20-year career with IMA Financial Group.
In 2015, Chapple sold his company to AssuredPartners, where he worked until December.
"It was just time to do it again," Chapple says of starting his own company.
"It's going to be a full-service insurance agency," he says.
That includes home, business and auto insurance along with employee benefits.
For now, the company is in the Hartman Oil Building.
Chapple says he's working with Steve Barrett of J.P. Weigand & Sons on permanent space, including possibly at a new building where his company would be the anchor tenant.
Though he'd prefer to remain on the east side, where he's been for years, Chapple says he's open to considering the west side or downtown.
"As a business owner, there's always that quandary."
As of Friday, the firm will have five employees, including Chapple.
He created a Facebook post letting people know he's hiring, and Chapple says he's been deluged with replies.
"That's been kind of amazing. I wasn't expecting that."
In a year, Chapple says, he expects to have 10 to 15 employees.
"I'd like to add one a month."
