Carol died peacefully at Berkshire medical Hospital in Pittsfield Massachusetts on June 12, 2025.
She was born July 8, 1944, in upstate Vermont in the Northeast Kingdom. The daughter of Annie and loving stepfather Albert Mason.
Carol attended a small grammar school in Albany Vermont and moved at a young age to Lee Massachusetts on High Lawn Farm. She continued her education and graduated from Lee High School. She soon married surviving husband (a.k.a. School bus driver) Louis (Punky) Carey and settled in Lenoxdale, Massachusetts. They celebrated over 50+ years of marriage.
She was a home stitcher for Country Curtains, followed by working as a mail distributor for Berkshire Life Insurance Company. She had a love of old-time country music, danced the polka with her, loving husband with grace and accuracy. She had an art of sewing and made the best blueberry strudel ever!! She leaves behind her three daughters; Kim Kirby and her husband Dan, Charlotte Carey (Gary), and Darcie Carey, six grandchildren; Shane Kirby (Barrett), Emily Kirby, Nicole Reed, Patrick, Andrew, and Caroline Haiss, and her great grandson; Ethan.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her siblings, Harry, George, and Gail Burnham.
Services will be held at Roche funeral home Lenox, Massachusetts on Friday June 20th, 2025, from 3 to 5 PM. In lieu of donation, please send to hospice care in the Berkshires, Pittsfield, Massachusetts.
