Dec. 16--Two Jamestown teens were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 3:18 p.m. Thursday, according to the Jamestown Police Department.
Mike Merkel, 49, Jamestown, was driving a 1993 Ford F150 pickup truck west on 13th Street Northeast and was approaching the intersection of 12th Avenue Northeast.
Brandon Olson, 16, Jamestown was driving a 1983 Chevrolet K10 pickup truck north on 12th Avenue Northeast and was approaching the intersection of 13th Street Northeast.
Police said Olson failed to yield at the intersection and made a left turn onto 13th Street Northeast, causing Merkel to strike the vehicle Olson was driving.
Police said it was unknown if Merkel, Olson or Olson's passenger, Matthew Haase, 16, Jamestown, wore seat belts.
Merkel was not injured. Olson and Haase were transported by their parents to Jamestown Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries.
Olson was cited for failure to yield at an intersection after stopping, driving while operator's license is suspended and driving without proof of insurance.
