BRIEF: Stonegate apartment fire cause currently ‘undetermined’
Stillwater NewsPress (OK)
Sept. 25--The Stillwater Fire Department's deputy fire marshal said a fire that broke out early Friday at the Stonegate apartment complex still does not have a determined cause of origin.
Steve Sylvester told the News Press that the apartment in building F where the fire began has several points where the fire could have originated, and the department's investigation has not yet yielded what caused the blaze to begin. An insurance representative for the apartment complex will conduct an investigation this week, and Sylvester said SFD plans to look over the apartment again at that time to try to determine what caused the blaze.
Stillwater police responded to the scene shortly after midnight Friday; the fire began late Thursday night. Several apartments in the building were affected, and firefighters had to cut a hole into a roof on the second floor of the building to help fight the fire.
