BRIEF: Reagor Dykes Auto Group earns employee safety award from Texas Mutual

Nov. 02--Reagor Dykes Auto Group was presented with the platinum safety partner award by Texas Mutual Insurance Company on Wednesday.

Of the 68,000 Texas Mutual policyholders, 200 companies who practice outstanding safe working environments were given the award, said Larry Homen with Texas Mutual. Selection was based on a company's ability to provide necessary resources to protect their employees from workplace hazards, reads a news release from Texas Mutual.

Homen said that, with over 25 facilities and 800 employees, keeping everyone safe could be a challenge for RDAG.

"I know it's not luck -- they're working at it," Homen said. "It's not a knock-on-wood safety program like some companies have."

Bart Reagor, co-owner of RDAG, said his team strives to create the best work environment they can, which includes valuing safety. Reagor said operating a great place to work has always been a top priority for him.

"I"m really proud of the pride that everybody takes in this company and doing things the right way," Reagor said. "We want to insure that people can go to work and have a safe work environment."
