BRIEF: Pocan to host talk about Affordable Care Act

Jan. 12--JANESVILLE -- Rep. Mark Pocan will host a discussion on the Affordable Care Act and pending changes to the law Saturday at Blackhawk Technical College in Janesville.

Pocan, who represents the Second Congressional District, will lead the discussion at 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the college at 6004 S. County G, room 2606.

Pocan is seeking questions and feedback about the Affordable Care Act and the plan by President-elect Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress to repeal the 6-year-old healthcare insurance law.

Pocan will be joined by Jeff Huebner, a Madison doctor who practices family medicine, and two Second Congressional District residents who are recipients of health insurance coverage under the Affordable Care Act.

Pocan opposes a repeal of the Affordable Care Act. Huebner and the two residents will speak about their experiences with Affordable Care Act coverage under its current model and the consequences of a repeal of that coverage.

The talk will include a live session on Pocan's Facebook page for people who can't attend.
