Feb. 01--Conservative judge Neil Gorsuch, at 49, is the youngest Supreme Court nominee in 25 years and, if confirmed, could be one of President Trump's longest-lasting White House legacies.
Gorsuch was appointed to the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver by former President George W. Bush. He is poised to restore the general conservative tilt to the Supreme Court after the death of Justice Antonin Scalia a year ago.
Gorsuch's record includes siding with two groups that challenged the Obama administration over requiring employers to provide health insurance that includes contraception coverage. He has also written against assisted suicide and in favor of term limits, according to the Denver Post.
Gorsuch was a classmate of former President Obama at Harvard Law School and also received a doctorate in philosophy from Oxford. He served as clerk to Supreme Court justices Byron White and Anthony Kennedy.
