BRIEF: March for Healthcare planned for Friday in Aberdeen
Aberdeen American News (SD)
May 17--Some Aberdeen residents have organized the March for Healthcare Friday at 5 p.m., according to a news release.
Participants will gather outside the Ward Plaza at the intersection of South Main Street and First Avenue Southwest. They'll march down Main Street to Sixth Avenue and return to the Ward for a brief program at 6 p.m.
The march was organized to highlight recent efforts by Congress to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, event co-organizer Cory Heidelberger said in the release.
"The bill the House passed two weeks ago does the exact opposite (of providing health insurance for everybody and health care that is less expensive and better)," he said in the release. "We decided we needed to get that message out and show our support for better health care policy that protects insurance for everybody."
