BRIEF: Fire insurance rating drops for Saltillo FD
Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal (Tupelo)
June 12--SALTILLO -- Saltillo residents could see a savings on their home insurance in the near future.
The Mississippi State Rating Bureau recently informed the city of Saltillo that its Public Fire Protection Classification had dropped from a Class 7 to a Class 6, effective May 23.
According to Saltillo Fire Chief Mark Nowell, improvements to the city's water system, along with building and fire codes and their enforcement contributed to the lower rating.
Citizens, building and business owners inside the City of Saltillo should contact their local fire insurance agents to see if they are eligible for reduced premiums due to this change.
