BRIEF: BLOTTER: Man with shaking legs has meth in his truck, paraphernalia in his bag
Northwest Florida Daily News (Fort Walton Beach)
Aug. 29--NICEVILLE -- A 32-year-old man was charged with drug possession and probation violation after a traffic stop for erratic driving.
A Niceville police officer saw a truck swerving from side to side, causing another vehicle to swerve onto the road shoulder to avoid a crash. The officer pulled the car over and got the driver's license, registration and insurance.
According to the arrest report, the driver's legs were shaking. The officer asked if he had anything illegal, to which he said no but said he had narcotics in the vehicle recently.
The officer asked to search the vehicle, but the man denied consent. The officer had his K9 do a free air sniff around the truck, and the dog alerted to the driver's door.
The man was detained while officers searched the vehicle. The man said, "I have paraphernalia inside my book bag."
Officers found a clear canister with a cut straw and several pieces of meth. There was also a black zipper pouch with a glass smoking pipe.
The man was currently on probation for other drug charges.
