Brand-Name Drug Prices Grew 10 Times Faster Than Inflation
As policymakers prepare to address rising drug prices, a new report from Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., indicates some of the most popular brand-name drugs have increased by 12% on average each year from 2012 to 2017. Pharmaceutical companies saw profits soar to $8.5 billion even as prescriptions dropped by 48 million.
