Boston Mutual Launches Group Accident Product

Canton, Mass. – (March 23, 2016) – Boston Mutual Life Insurance Company, a national provider of insurance solutions for individuals and at the workplace, today launched a group accident insurance plan, Group  Accident Coverage, to help meet employers’ and employees’ coverage needs. This competitively priced product, which is the company’s first group accident plan, offers employers greater flexibility to customize their voluntary benefits and the opportunity to offer employees the same accident plan and rate across multiple states.

“Our producers noted that an increasing number of policyholders have begun requesting a range of accident coverage options,” said Charlie Mabry, Vice President of Workplace Solutions at Boston Mutual Life Insurance Company. “The new product is fully customizable and is a great supplement to high deductible health insurance plans that continue to gain popularity.”

The new group accident plan offers eight modules with maximum flexibility within each one, providing many personalized options based on employer needs. Each of these benefit categories can be dialed up or down at the case level for maximum customization, which include: hospital, emergency care, emergency room, diagnostic imaging, continuing care, specific loss, major injury, fractures, and dislocations. There are three shelf plans available (Silver, Gold, and Platinum), or the plan can be tailored to offer additional versatility for employers.

Currently available in 41 states, enrollments will begin in April 2016, with issue dates effective starting in June 2016.
