May 19--ASHEBORO -- The Fifth Annual Boomer, Senior and Caregiver Expo Wednesday drew large crowds to Randolph Mall to check out health and wellness resources in the community. According to Janet Harllee of Cross Road Retirement Community, more than 50 booths represented medical offices, home health agencies, insurance offices and others concerned with the welfare of seniors. Harllee said 387 registered participants attended the event.
Among the free services offered were blood pressure and blood sugar checks, spinal screenings and body fat analysis screenings.
Entertainment was provided by The Growing Place Four Year Old Class Choir, The Monarch Movers and Shakers Hand Bell Choir, and the Randolph Senior Steppers. Christians United Outreach Center presented a fashion show.
The event is organized by Bayada Home Health Care, Brookdale of Asheboro, Carillon Assisted Living, Clapps Nursing Home, Community Home Care & Hospice, Cross Road Retirement Community, Home Health of Randolph Hospital, Home Instead Senior Care, Hospice of Randolph County, Randolph County Public Library, Randolph County Senior Adults Association, Staywell Senior Care, Randolph Hospital, Randolph Hospital Home Health, Randolph Medical Associates and Victorian Senior Care.
