BeWellnm announces open enrollment for 2018

Nov. 09--ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- BeWellnm, New Mexico's Health Insurance Exchange, has announced dates and information for the upcoming 2018 Open Enrollment period. With the exception of those who qualify for special enrollment, Open Enrollment will be the only time to purchase health insurance for 2018.

The 2018 Open Enrollment period will begin on November 1, 2017 and run until December 15, 2017. There will continue to be four health insurance carriers offering coverage for all counties in New Mexico, which are Christus Health Plan, Molina Healthcare, New Mexico Health Connections and Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico. Regulators have approved insurance premium increases requested by these four carriers, but the increases will vary. Consumers should shop a variety of plans during Open Enrollment to identify what best fits their needs and budget.

BeWellnm will offer a number of resources for Open Enrollment, including in-person assistance in both Spanish and English at their four Enrollment Centers across the state, located in Albuquerque, Gallup, Las Cruces and Santa Fe. Additionally, beWellnm will host one-on-one consultation and enrollment events at the Albuquerque-based Catholic Charities located at Bridge Blvd. Computers will be available at these events for individuals comfortable with enrolling on their own, with assistance offered as needed. Additional enrollment events will be held throughout the state and can be found on the beWellnm online event calendar. Additionally, beWellnm provides access to certified agents and brokers at no cost to enrollees across the state. Agents and brokers assist in helping consumers find the best plan for their needs and act as a guide during the enrollment process.
