Baton Rouge Financial Planner Richard Mitchen Brings Practice & Team to HD Vest Network

PR Newswire

IRVING, Texas, Feb. 27, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- HD Vest Financial Services®, the pioneer of tax-smart wealth management services, announces that Richard Mitchen, a longtime CPA and financial planner with strong ties to Baton Rouge, La., has brought his practice and team to the HD Vest network.

HD Vest Financial Services (PRNewsfoto/HD Vest Financial Services)

Mr. Mitchen previously spent 35 years with Raymond James Financial. His team provides accounting and tax-smart wealth management services in addition to financial planning for high-net-worth individuals and families in the Baton Rouge community. Mr. Mitchen's practice currently has $220 million in assets under administration, and comprises four advisors and three support staff members.

"No one knows how to empower and support tax professionals who offer financial advice better than we do," said Tim Stewart, Head of Business Development at HD Vest Financial Services. "We have 35 years of experience providing advisors like Mr. Mitchen and his team with a customized business support model to optimize advice and service with an in-depth, holistic understanding of each client's financial situation."

Mr. Mitchen and his associates plan to harness the resources on the HD Vest platform to facilitate scalable growth and position his sons to seamlessly take over running the practice when he eventually retires. For more information about the support available from HD Vest, visit http://www.hdvest.com.

"Tax management and financial planning go hand in hand, like a marriage, because most investment and wealth management decisions have an impact on the taxes we pay. This is why infusing tax-smart strategies into our planning and advice is so vital for helping clients achieve their long-term financial goals," said Richard Mitchen. "I have been aware of HD Vest and their commitment to enabling advisors to provide tax-smart investment management since their establishment in 1983, when they worked with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants to overturn rules preventing CPAs from receiving commissions. Our shared belief that tax information is key to effective overall financial planning, and our common focus on clients and families, make HD Vest the ideal platform for us to continue to grow and enhance the client experience we deliver."
