AXA Broadcasts Live Into English Schools as Part of Apprenticeship Support & Knowledge Programme

Targeted News Service (Press Releases)

LONDON, England, Nov. 5 -- AXA UK, a multinational insurance firm that engages in global insurance, investment management and financial services, issued the following news release:

On Wednesday 13th November apprentices from AXA will take part in live and filmed interviews for schools across England as part of the Apprenticeship Support & Knowledge programme's Live Broadcast initiative.

Funded by the government's National Apprenticeship Service and part of the Apprenticeship Support & Knowledge for schools and college (ASK) programme, the interactive experience will stream directly to schools - whether on individual PCs or tablets, an interactive whiteboard in a classroom or a projector during assembly.

During the broadcast Emily Binge, Apprentice Underwriter at AXA Insurance will speak directly to students and teachers online. Topics include the latest opportunities on offer, the skills employers such as AXA are looking for and how students can best prepare themselves for working life after school or college.

Alexandra Francis, an apprentice from the AXA Insurance Claims Team and Dawn Keijzer, Apprenticeship & Professional Qualifications Manager at AXA UK, will also be filmed separately on the day with their interviews broadcast throughout schools and colleges at regular intervals over the coming months.

"Since AXA decided to cease our graduate programmes and place more emphasis on our apprenticeship programmes in 2018, we have had over 150 apprentices of all ages across 10 offices in the UK. Our apprentices are from a wide range of backgrounds and have had roles in Insurance, Marketing, and Data and Analytics to name a few. We are huge believers in the benefits of apprenticeships, which is why we are so excited to share our experiences as part of ASK's Live Broadcast initiative. These broadcasts are a fantastic opportunity to disperse any stigma associated with the name 'apprenticeships' and to position them as a credible option for people at any stage of their career, but especially those students considering their options for Further Education."

-- Dawn Keijzer, Apprenticeship & Professional Qualifications Manager, AXA UK

"These live broadcasts will give young people considering an apprenticeship real insight into what it's like to be an apprentice and what's required from an apprentice in the workplace today. We have some fantastic apprenticeship employers lined up to give their vision of what qualities an apprentice needs to bring to the role and the brilliant opportunities they can expect. These broadcasts will reach thousands of young people and really give them a taste for how far they can go with an apprenticeship; whilst schools taking part are helping ensure that they are meeting the requirement to deliver independent careers advice."

-- Keith Smith, Director, National Apprenticeship Service

Schools looking to sign up to a Live Broadcast or view previous recordings on catch up should visit: http://amazingapprenticeships.com/live-broadcasts while students are also encouraged to share their thoughts on the Live Broadcast on Twitter via @AXAUKCareers and @Apprenticeships.
