Area law firm adds attorney, medical service provider

Attorney Elizabeth A. Allers of Chadwicks has joined the law firm of Hilton Estate & Elder Law.

She will provide estate planning, asset protection, Medicaid planning, guardianships, trust and estate litigation, probate and trust administration. Allers graduated from Syracuse University College of Law with a juris doctor degree in 2014. She also currently holds a real estate broker's license.

Deborah Tarasek of Lowville provides Medicaid application services, and helps clients to secure this long-term care coverage. She has 30 years of experience with Medicaid eligibility processes. She recently retired from the Department of Social Services.

Hilton Estate & Elder Laws is at 2100 Genesee St., Utica, with offices in Boonville, Lowville, and Rome.

• The Career Services department at Herkimer County Community College recently received an award, along with Mohawk Valley Community College, SUNY Poly and Utica College career services centers, for excellence in employer, faculty and community collaboration. The award was presented at the SUNY Career Development Organization (SUNYCDO) conference in Beaver Hollow. The award was given in recognition of their collaborative effort to create a professional development event for human resource professionals in the region. SUNYCDO is a statewide professional organization offering professional development opportunities, collaboration, and informal networking for career services professionals in SUNY.

• Coldwell Banker Faith Properties, 2306 Genesee St., Utica, honored New Hartford resident J.C. Pantola for achieving Silver Agent Award for 37 individual transaction sides in 2018, totaling more than $3.6 million in sales. These awards are based on a combination of top individual sales and top number of units sold for an individual coupled with high professional standards and outstanding service to clients.

• The Genesis Group was named 2019 Business of the Year -- Not Profit Organization by The Rome Area Chamber of Commerce. The Genesis Group is a civic organization that unites business and community Leaders working to advance regional economic, social and cultural interests, and to foster unity and cooperation in the Mohawk Valley region of Upstate New York.
