Every year around this time, I get mailings from insurance agents I don’ t know. Putting aside how unfair this is to babies, the line is attributed to circus showman P.T. Barnum. Barnum biographer Candace Fleming says a more accurate phrase uttered by Barnum would have been,“ There’ s a customer born every minute.”.
