The American Property Casualty Insurance Association (APCIA) encourages support for the bipartisan funding package released earlier today. Nat Wienecke, APCIA's senior vice president of federal government relations released the following statement:
"APCIA strongly supports the congressional funding package that was released this morning. The bill includes important mitigation and resiliency provisions, including flood mapping/3D elevation, natural disasters prediction and mitigation, climate resilient infrastructure, and wildfire management. These provisions are essential to helping communities prepare for and recover quickly after severe weather strikes. The funding bill also includes a provision extending the National Flood Insurance Program through the end of the fiscal year, September 30th of 2024. This extension is critical to provide the stability that policyholders deserve to protect their homes and businesses. APCIA encourages Congress to pass this funding bill."
