PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- AmeriHealth Caritas announced today that Eileen M. Coggins, Senior Vice President Compliance and Risk Management, has been named General Counsel and Senior Vice President Long Term Services & Supports/Medicare Solutions.

Ms. Coggins reports to AmeriHealth Caritas Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Paul A. Tufano. In addition to her general counsel responsibilities, she is now also responsible for the company’s Long Term Services and Supports (LTSS) solutions as well as its Medicare and Medicare-Medicaid Plans (MMPs).

“Eileen has unique and valuable experiences as a corporate lawyer and in navigating dynamic, regulated and complex health care environments,” said Paul A. Ms. Coggins is a highly skilled and veteran attorney with more than 24 years of legal experience in public and private health care companies. Prior to AmeriHealth Caritas, she served as General Counsel and Senior Vice President of Government Affairs for Univita Health Inc., a provider of home-based care management programs, and Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Genesis Healthcare Corporation, one of the nation’s largest skilled nursing and rehabilitation therapy providers. Ms. Coggins earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Administration from West Chester University of Pennsylvania and her Juris Doctor from Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Delaware. Her professional affiliations include the Widener University School of Law Health Policy Board, American Health Lawyers Association, American Bar Association Business Law Section and Association of Corporate Counsel.
