AM Best to Sponsor, Exhibit and Present on Catastrophe Modeling at 2023 Society of Insurance Research Conference

AM Best will sponsor and participate in the 2023 Society of Insurance Research (SIR) Conference in Cincinnati, OH, Sept. 10-12, 2023.

Sridhar Manyem, senior director of industry research and public relations, AM Best, will present with Andrew Straube, risk consultant, Verisk, a session titled, "Introduction to Catastrophe Modeling." The panel will discuss how AM Best incorporates cat model output into its building block analysis.

Topics will include modelling of primary and secondary perils, probabilistic versus deterministic approaches, model uncertainty and the importance of management teams developing their own view of risk. The panel session is slated for Sept. 11 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. (EDT).
