Alliance for Justice Issues Statement on Pitlyk Nomination for District Court

WASHINGTON, Sept. 20 -- he Alliance for Justice issued the following statement by President Nan Aron on the record of Sarah Pitlyk, President Trump's nominee for a seat on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri:
"Trump has been clear from day one that he is seeking out judicial nominees who will overturn Roe v. Wade and erode our reproductive rights - and Sarah Pitlyk's record makes her the perfect candidate to carry out his extreme agenda.
"Her opposition to reproductive health care goes far beyond wanting to roll back Roe - Pitlyk fought a law that would prevent landlords from evicting tenants and employers from firing their employees for using birth control or becoming pregnant before marriage; argued that frozen embryos are human beings; defended the Trump Administration's Title X gag rule; and has opposed assisted reproductive technologies like in vitro fertilization and surrogacy.
"Pitlyk was clearly chosen with the assumption that, if confirmed, she would continue pushing her dangerous anti-reproductive rights agenda.
"Alliance for Justice strongly opposes her confirmation to the federal bench."
