NATIONWIDE — MEDICAID HEALTH INSURANCE REIMBURSEMENT PORTALS for all 50 states are down following the Trump administration's decision to freeze trillions of dollars in federal funding, The Guardian reports. Medicaid, run jointly by states and the federal government, insures the health of more than one in five Americans, nearly half of whom are children. Karoline Leavitt, the White House's press secretary, when about the portals being down Tuesday, responded, "I'll check back on that and get back to you," before abruptly leaving the podium, Fox5ny reported.
"We are assessing the full reach of the administration's announcement" on an across-the-board freeze on federal grants and funding, New York City Mayor Eric Adams said in a statement Tuesday.
