Albrecht, Viggiano, Zureck & Company, P.C. Promotes Robert Quarte to Co-Managing Partner

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y., July 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- To better serve its clients and growing firm, Albrecht, Viggiano, Zureck & Company, P.C. (AVZ), a premier certified public accounting and business advisory firm on Long Island, has named long-time partner and 35 year company veteran Robert T. Quarte to the newly-created role of Co-Managing Partner. Quarte will now share responsibility for vision, direction and leadership of the firm with Thomas J. Murray, who has served in the capacity of Managing Partner since 2001. Together, they will continue to develop and promote the firm's growing range of services for both individuals and businesses, including both traditional accounting functions as well as specialized consulting programs. They manage a team of over 80 accounting and consulting professionals and support staff who provide a broad range of services to a variety of closely held businesses and industries in the Long Island and NY-metro area. Robert T. Quarte, CPA
Mr. Quarte is a long-time company veteran who joined the firm in 1980. He leads by example on a variety of accounting and auditing engagements with clients in the retail, manufacturing, construction, real estate, and distribution industries as well as Employee Benefit Plan Audits. He provides management advisory services, financial projections, business valuations, accounting systems and controls, estate planning and retirement planning.

Outside of the office, Mr. Quarte is well-known for his professional affiliations and community involvement. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA), Suffolk Chapter where he serves as a committee chairman. He has served as a NYSSCPA Suffolk Chapter past President, chaired the Emerging Technologies/Management Committee and Real Estate and Construction Contractor Committee, and was a member of the Accounting Practice Committee. In addition, Mr. Quarte serves on the Peer Review Committee for New York State, acts as a team captain of peer reviews for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and serves as Treasurer for the HIA-LI Board of Directors.

In the Long Island community, Mr. Quarte is an active member with various civic and charitable organizations, including Long Island Cares and Long Island University Post Student Advisory Board.

Mr. Quarte holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Hofstra University and publishes articles for financial and local publications. He is an Adjunct Professor at Stony Brook University teaching an Advanced Accounting Problems course to graduate students.

He is a registered representative who has passed the FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 exams. He also holds a New York State Life and Health Insurance License.

Thomas J. Murray, CPA
Mr. Murray began his professional career at AVZ and has been with the company since 1977.  Under his leadership AVZ has experienced consistent growth and success.  He assists closely held companies with income and estate tax planning and business succession planning. In connection with AVZ Wealth Management, LLC, Mr. Murray is a registered representative who has passed the FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 exams. He also holds a New York State Life and Health Insurance License.

He is the Past Worldwide Chairman of BKR International, an affiliation of approximately 160 independent CPA firms located in principal cities worldwide. In addition, Mr. Murray is the Past President of the Suffolk County Chapter of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.  In 2009 he was presented with the NYSSCPA's Arthur J. Dixon Public Service Award, which recognizes CPA's who have attained a high level of public service and who have distinguished themselves in community, charitable and civic activities on an ongoing basis.

Mr. Murray holds a Bachelor Degree in Accounting from Marist College. Mr. Murray lectures on various accounting and tax issues and writes articles for financial and local publications. In addition, he has served as "on-air expert" for both radio and television programs. He is Chairman and serves on the Board of Directors of Advancement for Commerce, Industry & Technology (ACIT) a trade association that provides networking opportunities for influential Long Island business owners. Mr. Murray is the Past President and Member of the Board of Directors of Long Island Cares, Inc.
