A.M. Best to Sponsor Annual Society of Insurance Research Conference; Director to Lead Innovation-Focused Presentation

OLDWICK, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- A.M. Best will sponsor and participate in the Annual Society of Insurance Research Conference and Exhibit Fair, taking place Oct. 21-23, 2018, at the Hotel Monteleone in New Orleans, LA.

Sridhar Manyem, director, industry research and analytics, will lead a session, titled, “Keeping Up With Innovation,” on Monday, Oct. 22, at 3:30 p.m. (CDT). The session will focus on the rapidly increasing pace of innovation, which is causing many types of technology to become obsolete more quickly in favor of newer ones. As a result, insurers should be more cognizant of these exogenous changes in the industry and react appropriately. Manyem also will discuss A.M. Best’s view of prospective trends in the insurance industry, as well as how the industry is reacting to market changes.

The conference, which is themed as “Elevating Insights to Manage Risk and Attract Customers,” will address the risks and opportunities insurance companies face from digital technologies, insurtech start-ups, disruptive business models and customers’ changing expectations. A.M. Best will sponsor a networking reception on Tuesday, Oct. 23, at 5:00 p.m. (CDT), and will be exhibiting throughout the event at booth No. 12.
