Woman reports friend took her car

April 28--MOULTRIE -- A Hartsfield woman who invited a school acquaintance and her child over to catch up was awakened Sunday to news that the woman had taken her car and left her toddler there.

Ashlee Cobb, of the 3700 block of Thigpen Trail, told the Colquitt County Sheriff's Office that she picked up the friend and brought her to her house so they could talk and their children could play.

The two women split a Four Loko -- a beverage containing caffeine and alcohol -- sheriff's reports said.

Cobb told officers that the friend woke her at about 3 a.m. wanting to talk, but she went back to sleep. At about 6:45 a.m. Cobb's mother told her that her 2002 Nissan Altima was gone and there was a baby crying on the floor of the residence.

About two hours later Cobb got in contact with the woman, who told her that she had taken the car to get more beer, had mechanical problems and that another woman gave her a ride to her house.

The car was found in the 200 block of East Broad Street of Sale City and returned to Cobb. The friend agreed to pay the towing fee.

Later, Cobb called the sheriff's office to report that the car was damaged, with dirt and grass on the undercarriage, and was running hot.

At that time a deputy told Cobb that because she had the car released to her she would have to pursue a private prosecution, sheriff's reports said.

--Sarah Jordan, 700 block Culbertson Road, reported Thursday that a female acquaintance broke into her residence, got her car keys and took a 2005 Cadillac Deville.

--Houston Hurley, 900 block George Flowers Road, Norman Park, reported Friday her credit card was used to make more than $7,086 in charges.

--Carolyn Hudson, 1500 block Fourth Avenue Northeast, reported Thursday the theft of a 4x8 foot trailer valued at $900 in the 400 block of Ernest Norman Road.

--Catherine Tarpley, 100 block Benny Baker Road, Norman Park, reported Friday the theft of a debit card on which $212 in charges were made.

--Debra Hampton, 1000 block Hopewell Church Road, reported Thursday the theft of property valued at $5,300.

--Franklin Powers, Thomasville, reported Sunday the theft of a washer and dryer from a vacant on Highway 111.

--Matthew Hill, 800 block U.S. Highway 319 South, reported Thursday the theft of 30 collectable pocket knives and $100 in pre-1964 coins.

Moultrie Police

--Patsy Croft, 700 block Third Avenue Southeast, reported Saturday the theft of a red and silver dirt bike valued at $500.

Croft later reported that the bike was at a neighbor's residence. Police returned the bike to Croft, who did not wish to pursue charges.

Burglary

--Troy O'Hearn, Moultrie, reported Saturday the theft of property valued at $17 at Allman Mini Storage, 1596 Camilla Hwy.

--Minnie Mapp, 1200 block First Avenue Northwest, reported a possible burglary.

A back window was found open at the residence, police said, but no one was found inside and there was no damage.

--South Georgia Electrical Supply, 1017 N. Main St., reported Monday the theft of copper wire valued at $4,000.

--Joseph Andrew Fox, 25, 2812 U.S. Hwy. 319 S., Coolidge, was charged Sunday with driving while license suspended and defective equipment.

--Ramiro Baltasar Pascual, 20, 136 Willow Drive, was charged Saturday with driving under the influence, open container violation and failure to drive within single lane.

--Derrick Dewayne Brinner, 29 was charged Friday with speeding and driving while license withdrawn.

--Clyde Brett Harrell, 51, 3211 Cannon Road, was charged Friday with driving under the influence, speeding and failure to drive within single lane.

Moultrie Police

--Brent Cornellius Jones, 24, 3879 New Hope Road, Pelham, was charged Friday with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and operating an unsafe vehicle.

--James Soloman Sapp, 26, 264 Casenberry Road, Pelham, was charged Friday with parole violation.

--Adrin Sherrod McBride, 22, 729 Eighth St. S.E., was charged Friday with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and seat belt violation.

--Billy Ray Stafford, 51, 1017 10th St. S.E., was charged Friday with no insurance and is being held on a Ware County warrant on a theft by conversion charge.

--Rkaiya Miharu King 18286 Mimosa Drive, Norman Park, was charged Friday with no driver's license and tail light required.

--William Richard Gandy, 56, 1603 Overlook Drive, was charged Saturday with public drunkenness.

--Jatavish Jerrod Lamar, 24, 708 Third St. S.E., was charged Sunday with possession of marijuana.

--Cruz Aguila Marquez, 40, 169 Quail Ridge Road, was charged Friday with driving without license and failure to stop at stop sign.

--Alan Eugene Peaden, 22, 4143 S. Main St., was charged Sunday with driving under the influence, failure to maintain lane and driving with suspended license.

--Luke Brabham McClean, 33, 517 26th Ave.. S.E. Apt. G-2, was charged Sunday with driving under the influence and driving too fast for conditions.

--Richard Samuel Moore, 23, 1308 W. Central Ave., was charged Monday with disorderly conduct.

Moore was arrested after Iesha Moore reported that Richard Moore pulled her hair while she was in a car and again after she got out. She told police that when she took a swing at him to defend herself her hand got caught in Richard Moore's mouth and he clamped down on it.

She reported that he also threw a brick at her, threw a brick through the window of a Ford Five Hundred and then ran away.

Moore was arrested after he called police for advice about getting his car back from his girlfriend.

--Andrew Johnson, 40, 197 Forrester Parkway Unit, Leesburg, was charged Friday with driving while license suspended and improper passing.

--Richard Elijah Strickland, 33, 2065 Smithwick Bridge Road, Coolidge, was charged Sunday with driving under the influence and speeding.

--Mike Sanders, 1100 block Perry Batts Road, Norman Park, reported Sunday that a female relative broke a window of his residence and kicked a hole in another door.

--Kenneth Anderson, 500 block 27th Street Southeast, reported Monday that a 1994 Dodge Intrepid was scratched overnight.

The car had scratches on all sides, the trunk and hood, police said.

--Felicia Crawford, 1200 block Elliot Brown Street, reported Sunday the destruction of her grill, which was valued at $50.
