Turner Construction, MassMutual and Cornerstone Support U.S. Special Forces through Title Sponsorships of New England Warrior Benefit

Business Wire, Inc.

Raytheon also confirmed as presenting sponsor of July 3rd event benefitting families of wounded & fallen warriors

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The New England Warrior Benefit announced today that Turner Construction Company and Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual), in conjunction with its subsidiary Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers LLC, will serve as title sponsors of its July 3fundraiser for families of wounded and fallen U.S. Special Operations forces. Raytheon also joins the prestigious group as a presenting sponsor of the fundraiser. Additional sponsors, including CB Richard Ellis, Kraft Group, Henry and Andrea Kara, New Balance, General Dynamics and Kelleher Family Charitable Trust, will lend their support to the charity event.

Sponsorship opportunities are available at: http://newarriorbenefit.org/contribute/.

The New England Warrior Benefit, to be held at Boston’s Seaport World Trade Center, will raise money for the elite troops routinely tasked with our military’s most dangerous missions, who too often make the ultimate sacrifice as they fight to protect American freedom and safety. The Fallon Family Charitable Foundation, helmed by The Fallon Company President and CEO Joseph F. Fallon, will direct all proceeds raised through the event and complementary online auction to five major nonprofit organizations dedicated to providing critical financial assistance and services to Special Forces families: The Navy SEAL Foundation, The Wounded Warrior Project, The Special Operations Warrior Foundation, The Semper Fi Fund and No Greater Sacrifice. Through their sponsorship, Turner, MassMutual and Cornerstone will directly support these benevolent organizations.

Turner, an award-winning global construction company, has Boston roots dating back a century. An industry leader in community service, outreach and diversity, Turner has a long history of community engagement and support of programs that help people in need.

“Turner is proud to join with so many others to honor our country’s military service members, and support the families of our wounded and fallen warriors,” said Charlie Buuck, Senior Vice President and Manager of Turner Construction Company’s operations in New England.

Recognizing the heavy toll recent wars have taken on our military’s elite units, MassMutual and Cornerstone seized this opportunity to help active duty Special Operations troops, veterans and their families. Founded in 1851, MassMutual is a leading mutual life insurance company that is run for the benefit of its members and participating policyholders. The company has a long history of financial strength and strong performance, and is dedicated to philanthropy, community and strengthening the financial stability of families; Cornerstone shares its vision for creating strong communities through solid financial investment and planning. Both organizations also nurture a strong commitment to supporting their veteran employees.

“MassMutual is both pleased and honored to support such an important event that will contribute much-needed funding to organizations that provide vital services to the brave men and women who have defended our freedom, and their families,” said Roger Crandall, Chairman, President and CEO of MassMutual. “America’s armed forces make such an outstanding commitment to our country, and it is very important to thank and celebrate their service by giving back.”

Raytheon, a world leader in military communications systems and mission support services, has long committed to protecting and supporting U.S. troops and military families. The company’s armed services support program focuses on veteran employment, volunteerism, giving and sponsorship. It is a key supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project and its Economic Empowerment Initiative, which helps injured veterans develop new skills and transition into the civilian workforce.

The New England Warrior Benefit – taking place amidst the city’s Independence Day and War of 1812 Bicentennial celebrations – will bring together top U.S. military and New England civic and business leaders to pay homage to special operations forces, and to honor U.S. Special Operations Commander Eric T. Olson, retired U.S. Senator John Warner and former House Armed Services Chairman Duncan Lee Hunter.

The benefit will also include the culmination of an exciting, ongoing charity bidding war on five hand-crafted, custom DIRICO Motorcycles, each themed to represent a different branch of the U.S. Military Special Operations Forces. Featuring classic Harley Davidson heartbeat engines with proprietary DIRICO frames and stunning artwork, these sleek and stylish bikes are unique collector’s items. Individual New England Warrior Benefit tickets cost $1,000, and event sponsorship and donation details can be found at http://www.newarriorbenefit.org./contribute.html. For additional information, please visit www.newarriorbenefit.org.
