Top Military Friendly Employer, Combined Insurance, Helps Wounded Military Servicemen and Women with Donation to Luke’s Wings

GLENVIEW, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Combined Insurance, a leading provider of individual supplemental accident, disability, health and life insurance products, and an ACE Group company, continued its commitment to support our military servicemen and women with its recent donation of $30,000 to Luke’s Wings, a national organization dedicated to helping soldiers who have been wounded in battle.

As part of a recent sales incentive competition between Combined Insurance’s four sales zones, the company offered to make donations to military-related charitable organizations on behalf of the top producing zones – $30,000 on behalf of the winning zone and $20,000 on behalf of the second place zone. Combined Insurance’s Northeast zone, which extends from West Virginia to Maine, won the competition, choosing Luke’s Wings as the organization for its donation.

“Our sales agents are no strangers to helping others,” said Greg Thompson, senior vice president and Northeast zone manager for Combined Insurance. “Not only do our agents help our customers choose the right coverage for their needs, but they also do so much to support their communities and our nation’s military servicemen and women. More than 700 Northeast zone agents and managers participated in this sales competition and I am so proud that my team put so much effort into winning in order to support such an important and worthy cause as Luke’s Wings.”

Luke’s Wings is dedicated to the support of service members who have been wounded in battle. Recognizing the immediate need for families to be with their loved ones at such a difficult time, Luke’s Wings provides families with the means to visit during the service member’s hospitalization and rehabilitation. By purchasing travel agency services, plane tickets and other travel tickets for loved ones, Luke’s Wings provides an immediate and invaluable service to the families of men and women at arms while also helping to encourage and motivate the service member’s recovery.

“Luke’s Wings, and the injured service members and military families we serve daily, thank Combined Insurance for their tremendous contribution,” said Fletcher Gill, co-founder and CEO of Luke’s Wings. “It is because of their generosity that Luke’s Wings will be able to provide at least 60 additional flights in 2015 – reuniting recovering American heroes with their loved ones during the duration of their recovery. The impact that this donation has is direct and we look forward to sharing stories of the families Combined Insurance has helped to support.”

Recently named the top military friendly employer for 2015 by Victory Media, Combined Insurance has been dedicated to helping our nation’s military veterans find meaningful employment as they transition back into their civilian lives for more than four years. Through its recruiting program, the company has hired more than 2,000 veterans to date, many of whom have made valuable contributions to the company and built successful careers and financially stable lives for themselves and their families. In 2014 alone, 42 percent of Combined Insurance’s new hires had military backgrounds.
