Tom Frazier Promoted to Assistant Vice President, Corporate Finance and Investments, at the Main Street America Group
The Main Street America Group announced that its board of directors has approved the officer-level promotion of Tom Frazier to assistant vice president, corporate finance and investments.
Frazier, based in the company's Keene, N.H., office, manages Main Street America's $1.6 billion investment portfolio. He will continue to report to Ed Kuhl, the super regional property-casualty insurance carrier's executive vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer.
"Following the traumatic meltdown of the financial markets in 2008, Tom successfully positioned Main Street America for the best investment year in our organization's 86-year history as we recorded a $105.5 million investment gain in 2009," said Tom Van Berkel, Main Street America's chairman, president and chief executive officer. "He embraces the leadership qualities that help Main Street America achieve success year-after-year and sustain our profitability in a challenging property-casualty environment."
Frazier's role at Main Street America includes determining appropriate asset allocations through the use of quantitative portfolio analysis, selecting the best outside managers to meet our company's portfolio objectives and managing their performance. He reports and analyzes the results for our senior management team and board of directors. Additionally, Frazier oversees the services and performance of the Main Street America's banking and custody relationships and assists in its capital management activities.
Frazier joined Main Street America in 1999 as a senior internal auditor and was named manager, corporate finance, in 2001. He was promoted to director, corporate finance and investments, in November 2005 and became a company officer when appointed assistant treasurer by the company's board of directors in March 2007.
Prior to joining Main Street America, Frazier was a Certified Public Accountant at Robert M. Mucha, CPA, PC, Keene. His previous experience also included roles as a financial analyst at Kingsbury Corporation, Keene, and an audit senior at Ernst & Young LLP, Boston.
Frazier earned his bachelor's degree in accounting at Assumption College, Worcester, Mass. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). Frazier also has attained the Associate in Insurance Accounting and Finance (AIAF) designation.
